Stony Lonesome GSD is so very excited to announce that our litter (G), produced by Kitzi and our stud Patrick, Victory of the Grey (Paddy) whelped on 6/4/24!
It’s our “Born in the USA” Litter – exactly forty years ago on 6/4/1984, Bruce Springsteen released his album of that name. Our twelve healthy, vigourous pups are named for people and products from American history, or at least pop culture. They are all black & red, six males and six females. They’ll be ready to go to their furever homes July 30, 2024.
This pairing produces beautiful and versatile longcoat German Shepherds. SL GSD has only a couple of litters yearly and intensively enriches and cares for each puppy giving him or her the best start toward a lifetime of playfulness, curiousity, and confidence with people and other dogs – a dog that responds well to tricky situations and to life in general. Our goal is the best dog you’ve ever had, a superbly loving, intelligent, composed, and capable lifetime companion for any good GSD family.

Sprite!
Sprite is the very definition of the word: she is lively, animated and playful. She is a black and red. She is a highly intelligent pup and has proven quite easy to teach new things and train. She learned sit in about 2 minutes and during our recent photo session kept sitting when Brian made the hand motion he used while training her. 🙂
Sprite is always studying faces to try and figure out things. She would make an amazing hiking or outdoor sport companion and would excel at any fun sport discipline. She has nice conformation, smaller and compact, perfect for an apartment or city living. When coupled with her keen personality, it also makes her an excellent therapy/esa/service dog prospect. She loves all people and to snuggle. She is suitable for all ages.
Sprite will mature on the smaller side of our average female pup, roughly 65-75 pounds. She is AKC registered, microchipped, has had 2 puppy shots and her vet exam. Sprite would love to join an active family. Transport/delivery or pick up available.
Josh & Libbby Belle!
Libby is off to her new home! We are so very excited for her and Josh, who is quite knowledgeable about Sheps. Great, great home for our sweet Libs. Lovely match.

Libbybelle!

Libby’s tail never stops wagging. She is such a happy puppy. She absolutely adores people and would be suitable for all ages. Libby loves to experience new things and wants to stay close by when she is out with us. She is doing very well with her obedience training and is exceptional on a leash even at 9 weeks. She already has a wonderful recall which will only improve with training.
Libby will grow to be between 75-85 pounds, and she scores three out of four on the “so, what are we going to do next?” scale so she’d fit best in a more active home. She is a heavy coated blanket back and will look more like Patrick in coat color. She is AKC registered, microchipped and has received 2 puppy shots and her vet check. Transport/Delivery or pick up available.

Marilyn!

Marilyn is one of four pretty ladies waiting for their perfect home. Marilyn is a gorgeous blend of Patrick and Kitzi. She will mature with Patrick’s blanket back coloration but have Kitz’s slick curly coat. She is going to be a real show stopper, just like her namesake!
Marilyn shows good nerve and confidence. She is not afraid to run with the big dogs when playing outside and will chase the ball with them. She is very eager to learn and LOVES treats. Marilyn is a therapy/ESA prospect but would also do well in obedience and rally type events. She is very loving and likes to sit in laps and give kisses.
She would be suitable for children of all ages and will enjoy being involved with all the family events. Marilyn has started her leash and basic obedience training and is doing very well. She is AKC registered, microchipped, has had 2 sets of shots and her vet check and is just waiting for her perfect people.

Mickey!
Mickey is our last sweet toasted coconut black and red male available. (The pups’ coats are getting a little bleached from the sun!). He will mature to between 90-100 pounds.
Mickey is a little love bug and would be suitable for all ages of children. He loves people, laps and snuggles. But, like all GSDs, he also enjoys play, chasing balls and investigating his surroundings. He is a therapy/ESA prospect. He is always right by our side when he is outside with us. He enjoys learning new things and is very engaging. He has the sweetest, softest eyes.
He is AKC registered, microchipped, has 1st shots and vet check, and has been temperament tested. Ready to join his forever family!

Sprite!
Sprite is the very definition of her name: she is lively, animated and playful. She also shows great spirit. She is a highly intelligent pup which will make her a breeze to train. However, it will also make her bored if not properly engaged, and if left to her own devices, she will find something to do. She would make an amazing hiking or outdoor sport companion and would excel at any fun sport discipline. The world is her oyster. She loves all people and loves to snuggle after play. Sprite will mature on the smaller side of our average female pup, roughly 65-75 pounds. She is AKC registered, microchipped, has had 1st shots and vet exam. Sprite would love to join an active family. Transport available.

Wendy!
Wendy (another toasted coconut) is extremely endearing. She is always one of the first, if not the very first, pup to greet us when we approach the weaning or outside pen. She doesn’t jump or cry to get our attention but sits and patiently waits for us to engage her. Wendy is a therapy/ESA, service dog prospect. She cares about people first and foremost and wants nothing more than to be right by your side. She loves laps and snuggles. She gives lots of kisses. She wants to please and tries to figure out what you want. She is very respectful of your personal space. She would be suitable for any age. Wendy would be happy doing anything or, absolutely nothing, as long as she is with you. She is AKC registered, microchipped, has had 1st shots and vet exam and is ready to sleep on your couch or in the bed! (Ssshhhh, don’t tell Brian I said that couch/bed part).

A busy week filled with car rides, a vet visit, crate training, lots of time and exercise outdoors, and some frustration training.
Results of first puzzle/frustration training (treats behind a fence open on one side): Bruce, Sprite, Marilyn, Harley, Li’l Debbie, Mickey and Chevy were quick and maintained focus. Singer, Levi, Wendy, Minnie and Mustang took a little longer and may have engaged in some denial (“What treat? I don’t see any treat that I can’t get to . . .”), but solved the puzzle in the end and were proud of themselves too and enjoyed the well-earned treats!
